Howell Ranked 11th Safest Community in America

In Money Magazine’s recent ranking of the best places to live in America, Howell Township was ranked the 11th safest place to live in the nation. This is a significant accomplishment and milestone for our Township. It also reminds us of how much we have to be thankful for as a community. There are several factors that likely contributed to this designation. However, none was more important that the efforts of our fine Police Department. Howell’s finest is the single best law enforcement organization in the State. The department is filled with extraordinary men and women who day in and day out put their lives on the line to protect our community and keep us safe. The Money Magazine ranking validates their hard work and their extraordinary efforts.

In today’s day and age it has become fashionable for the public to celebrate and idolize entertainers, celebrities and athletes. Most kids growing up likely think more of their favorite NY Giant than they do a local policeman or fireman. In my opinion, this is all wrong. As a society we need to do more to idolize the real role models and heroes or society, and we have some right here in our own town; our police force. It is my hope that every resident takes a moment to think about our safety designation and to be grateful to Howell’s finest for their contributions in keeping us safe.

This 11th safest community designation will help improve the image and distinction of our community. It will increase property values and it will showcase Howell for what is it – a wonderfully safe place to live, work and raise a family. It is because of the efforts of our Police Department that we live in such a safe community. So, the next time you see a police officer, stop him or her and say “thanks”. Thanks for putting your life on the line, thanks for working to keep us safe and thanks for being a great group of professionals that brings great distinction and honor to Howell Township every single day.

To the Howell Police Department: on behalf of myself and a grateful community we say thank you for a job well done.
